Halo: Reach CAMPAIGN

Halo: Reach! Its finally here! It came out on Tuesday and I have been able to play the campaign for couple hours since then. Personal review time!

I have played mostly the campaign and have gotten pretty far and so far I can say, things are different from Halo 3. Reach is very different in terms of looks, the Covenant now have a far more in depth military rankings that the previous Halos did not provide. There are now 2 different kinds of grunts, which is distinguishable by the hood they have on their backs that holds their breathing air and there are several different types of Elites, distinguishable by the type of armor and gadgets they use. This adds a little bit more realness in the game. The graphics are done amazingly well with very good detail. Unfortunately, there is an issue with Reach that wasn't in the other games: it's choppy. During cut scenes you will be able to see some plot development but it looks very strange, it almost has a ghost affect that is very distracting and makes the game feel different. Gameplay has also changed some ideas and kept some from previous Halo games.

Reach includes gameplay features from the other Halo games. From Halo: ODST there is no duel wielding as in ODST and they also kept the night vision. They did indeed bring back the scoped pistol which is very handy when dealing with grunts. Speaking of guns, Reach has plenty of new weapons and vehicles for you to enjoy. There are a lot of new weapons including: the Needle Rifle, a zoom rifle that is similar to the Needler primarily by Jackals; the Grenade Launcher, a powerful weapon that launches a grenade that can be remotely detonated; the Focus Rifle, Covenant rifle with up to 9.5x zoom fires a steady beam that destroys the enemy; the DMR, takes the BR's place with 3x zoom and single shot; the Concussion Rifle, takes the place of the Brute Shot firing plasma at your enemies; Target Locater, locks onto an enemy and unleashes hell from above; and the Plasma launcher, locks onto enemy and fires a max of 4 bolts of plasma at the target. Reach also has a bunch of new or different vehicles. Including the Revenant, a ghost like vehicle that fires plasma mortars takes the Choppers place; the Spirit, which is the drop ship that the Covenant use; and the Falcon, which replaces the Hornet with added transport capabilities for the crew and machine guns.

The new gadget system that Bungie used is brilliant! you can pick up 1 of 7 gadgets (Armor Lock, Drop Shield, Jet Pack, Sprint, Holographic Decoy, Active Camouflage, and Evade), When you have one of the gadgets you can use it as many times as you want but have to wait for it to charge up after every-time you use it,  You can even replace the one you have with ones you find on the maps! These gadgets a whole new level to the game as far as strategy goes.

After playing this game, i would still say it is a must have game, but i would say that i expected to much from it.
